DIY platform Willis Owen has hired Adrian Lowcock as its new head of personal investing.
Lowcock (pictured) joins the firm from AXA subsidiary Architas, where he worked since 2014, most recently as an investment director for the multi-manager business.
Lowcock previously held senior advisory and research roles at Tilney Bestinvest and Hargreaves Lansdown, and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry.
Jason Chapman, managing director at Willis Owen, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Adrian to the team at such an exciting time for Willis Owen and for the DIY investment sector.
‘We have been working hard to ensure that our website and platform provide a clear and efficient customer experience and this appointment marks the next step in Willis Owen’s journey.’
He added: ‘Adrian will be central to our efforts to build on our excellent customer service and help guide new and existing customers through the investment process, and to demystify stock markets.’
It comes after fellow AXA subsidiary, AXA Investment Managers, unveiled a restructure which could put 40 jobs in the UK under threat.
An AXA IM spokesperson said there will be 'minimal impact' on asset management and portfolio manager roles.
The firm is expected to make €100 million in savings as a result of the restructure, to be reinvested in multi-asset and fixed income strategies and ESG integration among other things.
