Property manager says Berlin bonanza has further to run

Taliesin Property (TPF) won't be known to all, but the specialist Berlin residential property investment company has stormed the performance charts - and our awards.

Shares in the Alternative Investment Market-listed company are up 447.6% over 10 years and 313% over five, returns beaten by only a handful of other closed-ended funds.

It was the fund's three year performance that saw it triumph in the Specialist Property category at the Citywire Investment Trust Awards.

Speaking at the awards, manager Mark Smith said they had a 'conviction from day one' of the opportunity in the Berlin residential market when launching in the midst of the credit crunch.

While he has been vindicated by performance since then, he still believes the market has further to run. 'I still think that residential property prices are too low,' he said.
