Edmund Harriss

Edmund Harriss has managed Asian Funds since 1994 both from London and from Hong Kong. He worked for ten years from 1993 for Guinness Flight, which became Investec after the merger in 1998. He joined Guinness Atkinson Asset Management in 2003 when they took on Investec’s US mutual funds, and has continued running their Asian equity funds ever since. Edmund graduated from Christ Church, University of Oxford, with a Master’s degree in Management Studies and has a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of York. He is also an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals. Edmund is manager of the Guinness China & Hong Kong Fund, and lead manager of the Guinness Asian Equity Income fund.


The Investment objective of the fund is to provide investors with both income and long-term capital appreciation. In seeking to achieve its investment objective the Fund intends to primarily invest in equity and equity related securities of companies that are either primarily traded on market exchanges in the Asia Pacific Region including Japan or that derive at least 50% of their revenues from activities in that region, but which may be listed and traded on other Recognized Exchanges. The Fund intends to invest primarily in companies which pay dividends.
